In Search of a Digital Dividend

What the presentation will give you:

        • A large number of companies in the packaging industry have made substantial digital investments in recent years, aiming at the smartification of machines through sensorization and connectivity.
        • However, in many cases the returns from these investments have neither met financial expectations yet nor contributed to improved customer alignment
        • We believe that it needs the bundling of smart products, software, and services into solutions to create a road to digital success
        • The outcome of this journey are new business models like Equipment-as-a-Service with the opportunity to create a new recurring revenue stream and increase customer loyalty

        Marc-Alexander Winter

Coming from a strategy consulting and software background Marc blends analytical rigor with contemporary innovation concepts to help manufacturing companies in the packaging industry to design, develop, and implement service-based growth strategies.

He discovered his passion for servitization during his 18 year stint at SAP SE where he served as Managing Principal in EMEA and Vice President of the service business in Asia-Pacific Japan.

Marc holds a degree in economics and is an alumnus of the FU Berlin and the Hasso-Plattner-Institute.

Engineering in the Era of Digital Transformation

The DNA of engineering has historically been driven by mechanics. The software was considered an appendage. In the age of digitalization this has to change and the new manifesto is software with machine and no longer machine with software. But the digital transformation must be implemented not only in the engineering departments, but also throughout the entire enterprise. Therefore Education 4.0 at all levels is the global key to digital transformation and invaluable for achieving a technological and cultural shift towards true digital engineering for the future.
